How it started
Hi, I’m Charmaine, the person behind The Numbers Co. I started my independent bookkeeping and financial support business after realising just how much small business owners can have on their plates. Your numbers shouldn’t be something that adds to that pressure. My aim is to provide a friendly, professional service that takes the financial admin off your hands, giving you more time and headspace to focus on what you do best — running your business.
With 8 years of experience across both accountancy practices and industry, I've had the opportunity to work with a wide range of businesses, from sole traders and agricultural businesses to content creators and companies in the live entertainment industry. Most recently, I was responsible for running the finance department of a business producing live music performances. Along the way, I've gained experience across a variety of financial needs and, just as importantly, learned that every business is different. That's why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Whether you need ongoing bookkeeping, a helping hand with your finances, or simply someone you can turn to when the numbers start to feel a little overwhelming, I’m here to make things simpler. I want The Numbers Co. to feel different from the traditional, intimidating approach to finance — professional when you need it, but always approachable and human. We can have a formal meeting, or sit down over a coffee and have a chat about your business. Whatever works for you, I’ll take the time to understand your business and create a service that fits around you.
